HISTORYIn 1962 Jim Hall and Hap Sharp formed Chaparral Cars, Inc. and immediately began the design and construction of Chaparral 2, a mid-engine car with an aerospace inspired, semi-monocoque, fibreglass chassis. In 1967 Chaparral introduced the 2F, a high winged coupe for World Championship Endurance Racing. The car featured a 7 litre Chevrolet engine. At the 1967 Nürburgring 1000km the number 4 car of Phil Hill and Mike Spence qualified on pole position and set the fastest lap of the race. Gearbox problems forced the car to retire early. Victory finally came for the car later that year, in the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch. THE SCALEXTRIC MODELThis is the No. 4 car that raced at the Nurburgring.
