History

A1 Grand Prix is more than just another motorsport phenomenon; it's an entirely new sport - The World Cup of Motorsport. Pitting driver against driver and country against country for the first time, A1 Grand Prix brings together 22 nations representing 80 percent of the world's populations to compete on a level playing field. Each meeting features two events - a sprint race and a longer feature race.

The series launched in 2005, with all cars using Lola chassis powered by a light but very powerful 3.4 litre V8 Zytek engine. For the 2008/09 season Ferrari will be providing the engines for the series.

Team Great Britain finished third in the Championship for the first three years of the series. The 2007/08 drive was shared between Oliver Jarvis and Robbie Kerr. Jarvis won in the Zandvoort feature race and secured a further three second place finishes. Kerr won the sprint race at Brands Hatch from pole position on the grid and finished second in the feature race to ensure that Team Great Britain beat Team France to third place in the Championship.

The Scalextric Model

The model features a strong front nose wing assembly and integral rear wing. The cars are detailed but robust.

This Digital Chip Installed car is ready to run on both Digital and standard Scalextric systems. The car features Magnatraction™, easy change pick-ups and a light weight body for high performance racing.
